Danzig Alternate 1920

Danzig Alternate 1920 is the first part of a novel that explores Hybrid Warfare elements set in the early 1920's, where the Miracle at the Vistula didn't happen and Soviets invaded Poland.

It's not about the early 1920's nor about Danzig as much as it is about visualizing these elements.

There is also a lot of Gun Porn, watchers of C&Rsenal ( https://www.youtube.com/channel/UClq1dvO44aNovUUy0SiSDOQ ) and Forgotten Weapons ( https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCrfKGpvbEQXcbe68dzXgJuA ) should appreciate

For various reasons, related with workplace issues and health, I have not been able to make any progress on that novel ever since, so for the time being I posted what was already on hand. It's 49,000 words long.

Les Moustiques-Tempête

Allright folks, this is a short novel (above 99,000 words) I've written in French for friends & family, but the topic is a bit too narrow for their taste.

The story is about an assymetric defense approach from a poor country against a much richer, but not necessarily wiser, neighbouring country. It also includes some hybrid warfare aspects, but not many.

This is set in the Arab peninsula but, although the parallels are quite transparent, there is no reference to actual countries. The tone is sometimes tongue-in-cheek, in a way reminiscent of the "Adventures of Tintin" graphic novels.

I wrote this in a month where I was recovering from a bad health situation. It helped me a lot.

En français : voici un petit roman d'un peu plus de 90.000 mots qui traite de solutions de défense assymétrique pour un état pauvre confronté à un voisin menaçant et n'hésitant pas à recourir à des méthodes assymétriques.

The end chapters

All right, I've made it.

The book is divided in two parts :
Part 1, chapters 01 to 48 (currently still missing chapters 45 and 46) is called Glasses & Pulleys
Part 2, chapters 49 to 81 is called The End of Bread

Part 2 is complete, I've managed to proof-read everything.

Here are the files to "The End Of Bread"

The complete novel is now over 413,000 words long, once the two missing chapters are finished it will about 420,000 words long.

It has been a tremendous experience for two and a half years. Please provide your feedback !

Chapters 74 and 75

Okay, here are two more chapters. Even proof-reading them is an effort now, this is why I intend to post on a weekly basis but I won't make promises.

Anyway, enjoy.

Chapters 72 and 73

Update : as you noticed I got stuck for a couple of weeks. I expect to post more stuff in the following week.

It took me a lot of efforts but I managed to finish the main story !

Three chapters (45, 46 and 71) are still to be written, they focus on Norman and Jessica.

All in all there are 81 chapters and an epilogue (a 82th chapter in terms of number of pages). I managed to end the book exactly as I intended to.

I will publish two chapters per week, only in .odt and .pdf format. At a later time, in late October or in November, I will publish the book, renamed "Glasses, Pulleys and Bread" in three large files :
1- Glasses : Erich's departure from Chicago
2- Pulleys : Peacetime in Joyeux-Tiburon (levees etc.)
3- Bread : From the CCC crisis on.

Here are chapters 72 and 73 :

Menières's disease

Okay, so here is the situation, I lost 40 db of hearing since february, and the specialist is pretty confident it's Menières disease.

As an interesting sidenote, this occurs in psychological profiles that match those of Erich quite closely, and it appears at age 40.

One effect of this disease is that I have a hard time to concentrate, let alone follow projects through. For the moment I can manage routine tasks, but I can't really go beyond that, and this means that this complex novel is on hold for an unknown amount of time.

It's sad because I have the next steps still pretty much clear in my head, I hope I won't get out touch should I resume this work.

We'll see this autmun how things evolve.

Thanks for the readership, take care.
